Dates and Fees
Below are the various areas that will be explored. The amount of time spent on each area and the depth into which it is explored will be tailored to the needs and interest of the group. The aim with each area is to practically experience the work since this is the only authentic way to teach it to others. The course is suitable whether clients are actors, business people or the general public and can also be adapted whatever the age group.
Creating a Positive Learning / Performing Environment
Exploring how to help a client create a positive learning environment for themselves. Dealing with the inner critic, nerves, impatience, disinclination to practice so that the client can work as optimally as possible both in their sessions and when working on their own.
Releasing the body, releasing the out-breath, releasing the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles to allow a deep and free in-breath.
Posture and Alignment
Exploring effective ways of improving posture which are easily accessible for clients.
Grounding Energy and Creating Greater Presence
Learning effective ways to enable clients to ground their energy and to expand their energy when speaking/performing in a larger space.
Understanding support and how to develop support in clients so they can use their voices healthily even in extremes of emotions or intensity. Including work on shouting and screaming healthily.
Developing well supported, easily accessed, extensive range. Ensuring range is used when speaking.
Resonance and Placing
Understanding resonance and how to develop your clients full resonance potential to give greater complexity to the voice and a wider range of vocal qualities.
Identifying what does and doesn’t lead to good articulation. Moving from correctness to connection. Developing pace without losing clarity.
Seeing text as behaviour not rules. Learning how to enable clients to explore practically the structure, sound and language elements within a text to feed their psychological understanding of the character and to make the text their own.
Exploring the subtext - shifts within and between characters - physically and how these enable clients to develop greater psychological and vocal variety and greater specificity and detail in their work.
