Contributing to the Discipline of Voice: Online Writers Retreat for the Artist Scholar with Dr Rockford Sansom - 24th June, 5.30pm (UK time)
This two hour seminar is aimed at those who are looking to contribute to the discipline of Voice Studies through engaging in research and writing articles in peer reviewed journals. This workshop is suitable for high level practitioners, postgraduate students and early career researchers.
Dr Rocky Sansom is a voice coach, author and the Editor of the VASTA journal: Voice and Speech Review and he will:
- Explore the concept of the Artist Scholar
- Examine the scope of the field. Relevant voice journals, peer review, journal rankings, selection processes
- Publishing tips
- Writing for different audiences
- An interactive research salon
- Q and A
Rockford Sansom is an actor and educator based in New York City. He has acted in leading roles Off-Broadway and in multiple national and international Broadway tours, taught voice, speech, and singing at universities worldwide, and served as a communication development trainer working with Fortune 500 executives, United Nations officials, and members of the U.S. Congress.
Rockford holds degrees from Capella (PhD), Central Florida (MFA), and West Florida, and he has teacher certifications from Estill (Master Teacher), Knight-Thompson, and Fitzmaurice voice programs, and others. Member: AEA, SAG-AFTRA, VASTA, NATS.
